Never Missing a Beat: Two Outdoor Kittens Embark on a Joyful Journey to Cozy Laps
Two outdoor kittens began a joyful journey into cozy laps, not missing a beat.
Earlier this month, the Toronto Humane Association took in two fluffy kittens who had been meowing outside. They were in good condition, suggesting they had a decent start in life. “The person who found them thought they had been abandoned,” Tapia, a volunteer at the shelter, told Love Meow.
The feline brothers, Chubak and Khubak, were immediately placed in foster care and treated for stomach issues.
When healthy kittens are found outside, their mother cat may be nearby. It’s best to wait until you are “sure the mother cat is not coming back” before intervening with the kittens.
“These kittens seemed to be infested with worms, but after a combination of treatments, including a warm bath to remove the larvae, they started to recover.”
“Chubak and Khubak have been very patient throughout the treatment. They’re truly resilient little sweethearts.”
The two brothers quickly adapted to their new environment. Khubak, the older and bolder of the pair, eagerly sought attention. “He greets me like a little dog, rolling over, showing his belly, and climbing into my arms for affection.”
His brother Chubak was initially smaller but was not overshadowed by his size. He had a meow so sweet it could melt even the coldest heart. The two embody the phrase “live fast, play hard.”
Chubak was spirited and loved “wrestling with his big brother and making him squeal.” He would then snuggle with Khubak or Tapia before jumping back into action.
“He’s adorable and has soft, silvery-grey fur with perfect posture.”
Khubak loved his meals a lot that he would lick his lips after each feeding, savoring the style. He typically rolled into his foster mother’s arms or onto her lap, exposing his tender stomach earlier than falling asleep mid-cuddle.
Despite his small size, Chubak ate with equal enthusiasm, determined to grow larger.
While they don’t quarrel or fight with each other, they still playfully kick and twitch their toes as they dream. They recharge with naps and cuddles before resuming their playful antics with renewed energy.
They approach playtime with unconditional affection and often nap together. Khubak frequently nods off mid-play.
“Although Khubak can be picky, he flattens out like a muffin when lying on his stomach.”
A few weeks ago, Chubak surpassed his brother in weight, earning the nickname “Chunky Chunk.”
“Their personalities are gentle and well-behaved. They know not to use their claws or bite. Occasionally, they enjoy being fed from a small silver spoon. This trick always works well with kittens who are hesitant to eat.”
The feline brothers have outgrown their delicate kitten stage, diving eagerly into piles of cozy toys.
Chubak and Khubak are living their best lives, brimming with love and warmth. Their bellies are full, and their spirits are high.
